Lose Dangerous Belly Fat

There's a great article in Woman's Day Nov 17th issue, health section regarding Goals to follow to 1) strenthen my immune system, 2) keep my heart healthy and 3) lose dangerous belly fat. That's the one that caught my eye.
The RX is Power Walking. Besides not looking good, belly fat has been linked to numerous health conditions -- insulin resistance, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and even premature death. Is that what we want? Not me. Women should aim for a waistline of no more thatn 35 inches...and men should keep it to 40 inches or less. Fortunately you don't have to spend hours in a gym to whittle your waist. Research shows that walking can protect you. A study published in "The Journal of the American Medical Association" found that brisk walking for 2 1/2 hours a week helped people lose 6.9 percent of the fat around their waistline (an aveage of an inch).

THE PLAN
5 times a week:
+ 5 min: warm up
+ 20 min: Power-walk
Focus on taking short, fast steps while keeping your posture tall. To increase your speed, bend your elbows to 90 degrees and keep them alongside your body (don't let them cross in front of you).
+ 5 min: Cool down
